Overcoming an “at-risk” label, he earned a football scholarship to the University of Tennessee, where he left a lasting legacy in sports, most famously for his role in the Miracle at South Bend. As a standout Defensive Back, he won accolades like Most Improved Defensive Player, became a two-time SEC Champion, and was twice named to the Sporting News All-SEC Second Team.

Beyond sports, Floyd has excelled academically and professionally. He holds degrees in Sociology, Theology, and an MBA, and has had a successful 20+ year career in sales and management with Fortune 500 companies. In 2024, he launched VFL Elite to help people achieve their dreams through personal development and leadership training.
